Val Mauro has produced several short films and a feature over the past several years. Her career started at Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting. In her 5 year stay, she worked in TV production, programming and business and legal affairs.
In 2003, she was offered the Production Manager position with Ellis Vision for the documentary titled, "Day of the Groundhog" that aired on Discovery US and Animal Plant.
In spring 2004, she accepted the Producer position for FinWorks' short film titled, "My Last Confession" directed by award winning David Finley. My Last Confession has screened in over 30 film festivals all over the world.
In fall 2004, she became the Consulting Producer on a short film titled, "Sleeping Dogs Lie" directed by esteemed director John Bradshaw. "Sleeping Dogs Lie" has screened in well over 17 festivals around the world.
In 2005, she was hired to be part of the development team at Open Communications in New York City working with Emmy nominee, Howard Nash. She continues to work with Howard on freelance basis.
In spring 2006, Red Shoe Productions hired Val to be part of their producing team for the hilarious comedy feature film titled, "Dawgs Playing Poker" written and directed by the very talented Glen McDonald.
In fall 2006, Val was hired by Lumanity Productions Inc. to produce the powerful and politically charged short film titled, Secret Miracle." written and directed by the esteemed Joe Woolf from Los Angeles.
Val took 2007 and 2008 off to finish her legal studies and work on her biggest production yet - the birth of her twins.
In fall 2009, Val was invited to work with a super team at the Copyright Collective of Canada as the Deputy of Royalties Distribution. She is currently enjoying her new position.
